Argument over a parking spot: police say a man was shot in the chest at a northwest-side gas station

The 19-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say an argument over a gas station parking spot landed a man in the hospital early Saturday night.

At the QuikTrip located at 4710 Fredericksburg Rd. at about 1 am., two men got into an argument over a parking space. Authorities say the verbal argument turned physical, with both men starting to fist fight. At some point, police say one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other in the chest.

The victim, 19, was rushed to hospital by EMS in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

Shortly after, the 34-year-old suspect was located inside an apartment and arrested. They were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

We reached out to QuikTrip and they released this statement:

“QuikTrip’s top priority is the safety of our customers and employees," said Aisha Jefferson, QuikTrip’s Corporate Communications Manager. "We are grateful to the San Antonio Police Department for their swift response to our Fredericksburg Rd. store and are actively working to support their ongoing investigation. As always, we will continue to take necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and communities we serve."

This shooting is still under investigation.
