'We're alive so that's good enough' | Wicho's Mexican Street Food owner held at gunpoint, robbed

Police are searching for two people who held the owner of Wicho's Mexican Street Food at gunpoint and stole $2,000 Monday night.

SAN ANTONIO — With guns drawn, two suspected robbers stormed into a restaurant on the west-side Monday and the whole crime was caught on camera.

Police are now looking for those two suspects who targeted Wicho’s Mexican Street Food. They have not identified them, but the owner who was held at gunpoint believes they were both men.

The owner wishes to remain anonymous but said the two ran off with around $2,000. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Wicho’s owner credits remaining calm with saving her life and her employee’s.

She said she was scared to open her doors today following the incident and didn’t have any money to pay her employee.

“We’re alive so that’s good enough,” the owner said.

Mondays earnings were completely wiped out when the two stole from her register and her purse.

She said a lot of small businesses in her area have been robbed but this was the first time in her seven years of being at that location that she was held at gunpoint.

SAPD does not know who these two robbers are and this is an open investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
