SAN ANTONIO -- Diana Lopez was extradited to San Antonio from Webb County after being accused of failing to stop and render aid to her husband after a crash, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
As KENS 5 reported, she was taken into custody in Laredo hours after a San Antonio judge signed a warrant for her arrest.
Lopez is accused of running over her husband, SAPD Officer Ernesto Vasquez, in the 12600 block of Blanco Road.
Officer Vasquez, an 8-year veteran of SAPD, was in a coma following the crash. In late December, he was moved from a hospital to a long-term rehabilitation facility.
Vasquez is currently non-responsive.
Police said Lopez did not visit him or his family after the crash.
SAPD officials previously referred to the suspect as a "romantic lover" of Vasquez.
Bexar County clerk records show Vasquez and Lopez were granted a marriage license in June 2015.
"We had no problems getting her into our custody and no problems getting her here. From this point, San Antonio police will handle and the District Attorney's office," Bexar County Sheriff's Office communication specialist, James Keith said.
Lopez was booked on $75,000 bond.
