BCSO: Woman charged with intoxication manslaughter, more charges after major two-vehicle crash

SAN ANTONIO — A woman was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated, which resulted in a major two-vehicle crash Saturday night, authorities said. 

Irene Maryann Andry, 30, was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter, Intoxication Assault, Aggravated Assault and several other charges.   

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash near 11050 West Loop 1604 South around 11 p.m. on the southwest side of the county. 

Deputies arrived on scene and found a woman in the driver's seat of the first vehicle. She had major injuries but was alert and responsive.

According to BCSO, the driver of the second vehicle was pronounced dead on arrival. The front-seat passenger in the second vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Two other occupants in the second vehicle, described as minors, were in stable and critical condition at the time of the incident. 

Deputies said the woman driving the first vehicle was traveling southbound on 1604 while the second vehicle was traveling northbound on 1604. 

A witness informed deputies the woman driving the first vehicle was swerving in and out lanes prior to the crash. The woman then veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the second vehicle.
