SAN ANTONIO — A woman is accused of threatening to “blow up” San Antonio’s Animal Care Services facility after police say ACS officers refused to release her dog.

According to an arrest warrant, 33-year-old Melanie Scott got upset Tuesday when ACS officers said Scott’s dog, ‘Draco,’ would have to remain in the custody of ACS longer than expected.

ACS reportedly told Scott that a dangerous dog affidavit had recently been filed after ‘Draco’ bit someone.

Detectives said Scott then became irate and told ACS she was going to get her dog anyway, and then said she was “going to do something illegal,” and “you think you can stop me? It’s time for business,” according to police documents.

But the threats reportedly didn’t stop there.

According to the arrest warrant, Scott then told ACS officers, “If anything happens to my dog, I’m going to come down and blow that place up.”

Scott was arrested and is now facing a charge of Terroristic Threat Public Fear.

An ACS spokesperson said in a statement that Scott was "connected to an ongoing dangerous dog investigation."

"Just as we prioritize community safety, so too do we protect the safety of our staff and volunteers," the statement read. "We will continue to work with our partners at SAPD on this situation."
