SAN ANTONIO — A woman is now dead after police say a vehicle hit her while she was trying to cross the street Friday night.
A couple was walking down North Weidner Road heading to the store at about 11 p.m. Police say the woman tried to cross the street in the 400 block of North Weidner to go to another store.
That's when an unknown vehicle hit her, fleeing the scene afterwards, failing to stop and render aid.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She later died due to her injuries. She has not been positively identified at this time.
No other injuries have been reported.
Investigators are currently looking for the suspect vehicle. When they are arrested, they will be charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death.
