SAN ANTONIO — A woman is now dead after being hit by an intoxicated driver while she was pulled over, police say.
The woman, 40, was driving her Dodge Challenger in the 4900 block of SW Loop 410 around 6:48 p.m. Friday. Her vehicle reportedly ran out of fuel, so she pulled over on the right shoulder. She stepped out of the driver side door and was hit by a Toyota Tundra that crossed the solid white line.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 37, stopped and remained at the scene. He was then evaluated and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for intoxicated manslaughter.
