SAN ANTONIO — A woman was arrested after a shooting incident on the west side of San Antonio, authorities say.

Police responded to the 8700 block of Canvas Back around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police say a woman, identified as 27-year-old Jesse Swadley, got into an argument with a group. During the argument, Swadley was allegedly physically assaulted which caused her to pull out a gun and fire a shot into the ground.

The shot ricocheted off the ground and struck a 62-year-old woman who was an innocent third party, police say.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for a minor injury.

Police say Swadley initially fled the scene and went back to her home where she called police and reported the incident.

Swadley was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

No other information was provided.
