SAN ANTONIO — With the vast popularity of TikTok, many teenagers and young adults nowadays have dreams of becoming "influencers," or people with a strong following online.
UT San Antonio noticed this and have started a new undergraduate major called "Digital Media Influence."
This new Bachelor's degree program would give students a full education on how to be an effective "digital influencer." Skills to be introduced in this program include social media management, digital marketing and content creation.
Unlike their other digital media degrees, this program focuses on the psychology of media.
The school also says this program is more than just scrolling social media. It focuses on strategy, analytics and sharpening digital media skills. Students would be able to learn how to build a brand, identify target audiences and create persuasive messaging.
The program is also available 100% online.
