SAN ANTONIO — The saying 'There's power in numbers' rings true for Medina Valley ISD as they started their first day of school Tuesday morning.
They take up a decent chunk of the westside past the 1604 Loop, and their booming growth has the district creating new schools for the community.
This includes their newest facility, Silos Elementary, who opened their doors for the first time for their 850 students Tuesday morning.
This is the sixth elementary campus to open in Medina Valley ISD. It’s located off of Highway 90 and 211 in the Silos subdivision.
The school has been a work in progress since 2019. Voters approved the district’s bond because a lot of people are moving to the area.
Medina Valley ISD is the 5th fastest-growing school district in the state. It’s seeing a 10-15% increase in enrollment every school year, and the community is taking note.
More district projects are underway, with the community approving two more bonds in the last two years.
