SAN ANTONIO -- Antronie Scott's shooting death has taken a great emotional toll, and that was clear this morning as family members entered the church to bury Scott on Saturday.
The wake was held at the Lilly of Valley Church on the east side on Saturday morning. Scott was killed on February 4.
According to the police department, Scott was under surveillance as a result of carrying two felony warrants for drug and firearm possession.
When approached by an SAPD officer, the officer said he feared for his life and thought Scott had a weapon.
When Scott turned to face the officer, the officer fired one shot at Scott's chest.
Police Chief William Mcmanus confirmed Scott did not have a weapon, only a cell phone.
The officers had not been assigned body cams yet. SAPD told KENS 5 that there is no dash cam footage of the incident either, only audio.
