SAN ANTONIO — It is “Red Ribbon Week” at local schools right now. As students around San Antonio are learning about drug abuse, their parents are learning new ways to test their kids for drugs.
Research from the National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics reveals despite anti-drug efforts, half of American teens have misused some sort of drug at least once and 1-in-8 teens have abused an illicit substance in the last year.
Lab testing experts at Any Lab Test Now in San Antonio have launched the Trust, But Verify Program, educating parents about new, unique drug tests that detect if kids are using.
Trust, But Verify Program
HOW THESE DRUG TESTS WORK:
- Hair Follicle Drug Test: A specific snip of hair is tested and can detect drug use as far back as three months.
- Blood Test: One simple blood draw detects THC in the bloodstream for up to three to four days.
- Fingernail Test: Medical assistants cut fingernail samples and can detect drug use as far back as six months.
- Urine Test: Ideal for detecting recent drug use within the last 24 to 72 hours.
- Oral Test: A simple swab of the mouth can detect THC levels in saliva for up to three days.
“Many parents don’t know about these new, affordable ways to find out quickly and privately if their child is indeed using drugs,” explains Clarissa Bradstock, CEO of Any Lab Test Now.
“We offer a variety of simple lab tests, and you don’t have to worry about making an appointment. Many parents drive their kids over for a drug test if they suspect use or after they discover drugs or drug paraphernalia in their teen’s room.”
There are six lab testing centers in the San Antonio area. You can find out more about each location at www.anylabtestnow.com.
