SAN ANTONIO — Taylor Swift might be too big to perform in San Antonio anymore – at least if her skipping out on the Alamo City during the Eras Tour is any indication – but to mark the release of her 11th album, "The Tortured Poets Department," a local marketing firm has shared photos of Swift performing here when she was merely the biggest star in the country music scene and not the entire world.
"From jamming out to her country debut songs in San Antonio 16 years ago, to listening to TTPD on repeat today, the CE team will forever be a group full of Swifties!" the CE Group shared in a Facebook post.
The firm shared photos of an 18-year-old Swift performing in front of packed crowds from a stage set up on South Alamo, near the Fairmount Hotel. She was in town in April 2008 to perform during Men's Final Four festivities, joining Three Doors Down, All American Rejects and local acts at My Coke Fest.
Suffice to say, the gig is peanuts compared to the stadium-conquering act she's become in the years since.
"Before she was selling out arenas worldwide, Taylor Swift performed right here at Hemisfair!" the district's official Facebook page said while sharing the CE Group's photos.
Swift's ongoing Eras Tour has become the biggest live performing act in history, grossing $1.039 billion (and counting).
