Don't be so cold...please replace my refrigerator! | Call KENS

A woman is getting a really cold reception to her requests for her warranty company to replace her refrigerator, after repairmen can't fix it.

SAN ANTONIO — You would think, the more you pay for an appliance, the better the appliance would be and the longer it would last. Yolanda McGee is proof that isn't necessarily the case.

McGee paid more than $3000 for a high tech, LG refrigerator a little more than 5 years ago. Admittedly, her troubles began when she was replacing the water filter and broke the housing. She called a repair, who she thought fixed it and at the same time bought a Sear Home Service warranty for the rest of her appliances.

A few days later the refrigerator started making gurgling sounds. She thought it was just air in the line... but then more noises started. She called the warranty company and they sent a different repairman, who replaced some parts and said it was fixed.

It wasn't! The refrigerator worked for a few days... then started acting up again. Another repairman came out and replaced some more parts, but the problems continued. In all, McGee says she had to call Sears more than half a dozen times, and each time a new repairman would come, replace or order new parts...but therefrigerator wouldn't work.

That's when McGee called KENS. We sent an email to Sears Home Service and they quickly responded. They said their top priority was customer stisfaction. They had tried to locate the parts which would repair McGee's refrigerator, including an entire door but couldn't find one.

They then offered to replace the refrigerator with the same model, but it was no longer available... so Sears contacted McGee and agreed to send her a check so McGee could buy a new refrigerator of her choice.
