SAN ANTONIO -- A grand jury has decided not to seek any criminal charges against the Bexar County Sheriff's Deputies that shot and killed Gilbert Flores earlier this year. But the legal battle isn't over for Flores's family, who have filed a civil suit against the sheriff's office.
Attorney Thomas J Henry is representing Flores' widow in a lawsuit.
"No matter what he said before he gave up, he did not appear to be an imminent threat to anybody," Henry said.
But the head of the union that represents the two deputies, Juan Contreras, says that the video vindicates them.
"The public trusts the deputies that are out there on the street because they receive some of the best training available in the county," Contreras said.
Henry says it's very common for criminal cases to turn out one way, and civil lawsuits, like the one he is trying, to turn out differently.
