Live Oak suicide call turns into murder investigation, police say

LIVE OAK, Texas -- Live Oak police said officers responded to a possible suicide Wednesday, and "evidence" led them to believe the deceased person was a murder victim.

LIVE OAK, Texas -- Live Oak police said officers responded to a possible suicide Wednesday, and "evidence" led them to believe the deceased person was a murder victim.

48-year-old Earl James Otter was arrested and accused of murder in connection with this case.

Police said they were dispatched to the 7400 block of Village Oak at around 3:30 p.m. and found a 37-year-old woman dead with a gunshot wound.

The woman has not been identified as police work to notify next of kin.

Otter reportedly lives at the residence and was taken to the Live Oak Police Department for further questioning.

Police said he was later arrested and transported to the San Antonio magistrate's office.
