SAN ANTONIO — Transguide officials are urging San Antonio drivers to avoid the North Loop 1604 East area at Gold Canyon and Redland Road as emergency crews respond to a major accident causing traffic delays and power outages.
Officials said Monday afternoon that a driver of an 18-wheeler struck a pole that knocked down nearby power lines. There are no reports of any injuries.
Officials also say they expect a traffic jam in the area for a while.
CPS Energy confirmed an outage caused by the crash that it says is impacting approximately 1,100 customers. Crews are currently on-site working quickly to restore power to the affected area.
