ARLINGTON, Texas — A 31-year-old man died on Saturday and two women were sent to the hospital in critical condition after an early morning wreck in Arlington, police said.
According to the Arlington Police Department, a 42-year-old woman was driving a Hyundai Veloster on N. Watson Road near Division St. when she lost control of her car and went off the road. The woman called a friend, 31-year-old Tyler White, to come and help her, police said.
In a statement, APD said White and the woman were out of their cars attempting to attach a tow cable from the Hyundai to White's GMC Yukon when a 34-year-old woman driving a BMW X1 approached at a high rate of speed, hitting White and the woman.
When officers arrived around 1 a.m., they found White and the woman injured, lying on the ground, according to APD. Police said both were taken to the hospital, where White was pronounced dead and the woman was listed in critical condition.
Tyler White is survived by his wife, Breya, and his three children.
APD said the driver of the BMW had to be extricated from her car and was also taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Arlington police said they are investigating the crash.
