SAN ANTONIO — A 70-year-old crossing the street on the south side of town was seriously injured after being struck by a driver, police say.
San Antonio Police responded to the 200 block of Division near Pleasanton Road around 10:23 p.m. Saturday for reports of an accident.
When officers arrived at the location, they found a 70-year-old man had been struck by a driver in a Volkswagen Jetta while he was trying to cross the street outside of a crosswalk.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Jetta stayed at the scene, called 911 and tried to help the victim.
Police say the driver of the Jetta was not intoxicated and did not appear to be distracted. Police say that driver will not be facing any charges.
No other injuries were reported.
