79th annual Texas Cavaliers River Parade is Monday night

This year’s theme is Viva America – Great American Landmarks. The Texas Cavaliers say it’s a call to celebrate the land of the free and home of the brave.

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Cavaliers will return for their 79th year in downtown on Monday night for their annual river parade.

A highlight each year during Fiesta, the parade floats down the San Antonio River, passing through the historic Arneson Theater, not only dazzling thousands of spectators but benefiting children’s charities.

This year’s theme is Viva America – Great American Landmarks. The Texas Cavaliers say it’s a call to celebrate the land of the free and home of the brave, with floats honoring our country’s greatest monuments.

It will be quite the spectacle, with many watching near and far.

According to the Texas Cavaliers, more than 250,000 people attend the river parade, while another 300,000 people tune in from home.

It’s a party on the River Walk!

The spot to be is in the Arneson River Theater where floats are on full display.

And of course, like any Fiesta event, this is a party with purpose.

The parade benefits more than 100 children’s charities each year.

The River Parade begins at 7 p.m. Monday on the River Walk.

Tickets are still available online if you want to purchase.
