SAN ANTONIO -- Staff at Northeast Baptist Hospital spent an emotional morning dedicating the emergency room Triage center to Cynthia Goodrum, a nurse killed a year ago by her husband.
In December of 2012, a pregnant Cynthia was murdered by her estranged husband, Narada Goodrum,in her West Bexar County home.
Investigators said Cynthia, who was 4 months pregnant, was shot to death after a heated argument.
Less than a week later, Narada Goodrum killed himself in Las Vegas.
Now a year later, many of her friends still get choked up talking about her murder.
I can't talk about it. I really can't. It hurt as much today as it did a year ago. said Harry Jackman, a co-worker of Cynthia's at Northeast Baptist.
Jackman and others chose to reminisce about her life and the good times on the 1-year anniversary of her death.
She was devoted to her child and she was devoted to us when she was here. said Jackman.
Another co-worker commented on her sunny disposition.
Cindy always had a smile on her face. She was always a very happy person.
Theyalsodedicated the Triage center in her memory.
She's going to be here with us forever. We all know that but this way we'll let everyone know that comes through that she is still here for them too. said Jackman.
