HEARTLAND, Texas — A 12-year-old boy from Kaufman County and his mother – who triggered an AMBER Alert on Saturday – have been found, according to Dallas police.
The Dallas Police Department said the boy and his mother were found Tuesday in the Preston Hollow area of Dallas.
The AMBER Alert was issued Saturday from the Heartland area of Kaufman County, which is about 25 miles east of downtown Dallas. It started after Crandall police said it received a tip on Oct. 30 from an AT&T employee advising that the mother had sent "concerning" text messages regarding her mental health. The tip prompted officers to stop by their home and when officers arrived no one appeared to be home, police said.
Dallas police told WFAA they were working to clear the AMBER Alert.
WFAA has removed the names and photos of the boy and his mother now that the search for them is over.
