Apartment residents waited in the cold as a fire alarm sounded overnight, fire officials say

Fire Chief Charles Hood says they rescued one person who was burned and taken to the hospital.

SAN ANTONIO — Residents at a northside apartment complex were forced out into the cold as a two-alarm fire swept through their building overnight, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. Sunday morning at the 2100 block of Thousands Oaks Drive. 

Fire officials say they believe the fire started in the kitchen of one of the units in the three story apartment building and at least 10 units were lost. 

Fire Chief Charles Hood says they rescued one person who was burned and taken to the hospital. There is no word yet on their condition.
