Baby dies after possible heat-related illness while on boat in Lake Havasu

The baby was taken to the hospital for a heat-related illness and later died, officials said.

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — A 4-month-old baby died after being rushed to the hospital from Lake Havasu for a reported heat-related illness during the Fourth of July weekend.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said the baby was transported from a boat on the lake to the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center on July 5 at about 5 p.m.

The child was eventually taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital and later died. MCSO said detectives are continuing to investigate the baby's death. 

The child's identity was not disclosed by investigators. A GoFundMe for the family identifies the baby as Tanna Wroblewski. 

The medical examiner has not yet released the baby's cause or manner of death.

The county was named after the Maricopa, or Piipaash, Native American Tribe.
