BCSO deputy on motorcycle struck by driver while escorting funeral, officials say

The officer was taken to BAMC and was said to be conscious and alert.

SAN ANTONIO — An off-duty BCSO deputy on a motorcycle escorting a funeral procession was hit by a driver on the northeast side of town, officials say.

San Antonio Police responded to the 1400 block of Harry Wurzbach Road near Fort Sam Houston around 11:15 a.m. for reports of a motorcyclist being struck by a motorist.

It appears the driver of the vehicle was making a left turn off of Harry Wurzbach Road when the BCSO officer came from behind them and clipped their vehicle, causing him to end up off of the road. The injured deputy ended up in a woody area off the side of the road. He was taken to BAMC and was said to be conscious and alert.

No other details were provided.
