SAN ANTONIO -- AirLIFE was requested in a far West Bexar County neighborhood after local deputies received reports of shots fired Friday.
A neighbor at the scene told KENS 5 that a man inside a nearby house witnessed a 27-year-old friend get shot in the face with a shotgun. The victim was eventually airlifted to a nearby hospital.
Officers would not comment on the disturbance. A spokesperson for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office confirmed two people barricaded themselves inside a home shortly after the shooting.
SWATwas called to the scene for assistance around 5:50 p.m.; however, the man and woman believed to be inside the home were gone when officers entered the residence, according to BCSO.
The sheriff's office is still searching for the two suspects.
The shooting happened in the 15400 block of Mesquite Trail, just off Talley and Culebra roads, around 3:45 p.m.
