BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A slow Friday night for Copper Fire, a Belleville, Illinois, bar and restaurant, turned into an unexpected delight.

Copper Fire took to social media after a St. Louis business owner paid a $900 tab and then tipped $500 to the entire staff. The man also gifted an additional $300 to the band, the restaurant shared.

"Dude that's awesome, we don't ever get big tips like that so when we get a big tip we really appreciate it," Adrian, an employee of Copper Fire said.

The business owner paid everyone's tab, Adrian said.

Although he was not working on Friday night, he knows how the food industry can be.

"Our tips is what we make," he said. "That's pretty much part of your paycheck."

Adrian has never experienced this level of kindness in the food industry. The restaurant posted the unforgettable moment and said it created a ripple of kindness.

One man's generosity brightened up the night for everyone inside the restaurant.

"Everybody was so happy and so grateful for it," Adrian added.
