BCSO: Skeletal remains discovered in far west Bexar County field

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office says the remains were found near the Highway 90 West Access Road at Pue Road.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) said Tuesday evening that human remains were discovered by property owners at a field in far west Bexar County.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said the property owners were out trimming brush and cutting grass in the field located near the Highway 90 access road at Pue Road when an unidentified object was discovered.

Salazar said upon a closer look, the property owner realized the object was a human skull and contacted authorities who were able to locate most of the skeletal remains.

Salazar said the bones appear to be bleached out and have likely been there for over a year. Officials found what appeared to be work-type clothes on the remains, according to Salazar.

Authorities are assuming the remains belong to a male but Salazar says it is too soon to determine the identity, cause of death or if any foul play was involved.

Salazar said investigators will be cross-checking evidence with any possible matching missing persons cases. In the meantime, anyone with information is urged to contact BCSO.
