Two people killed in crash caused by suspected drunk driver on I-10 near Boerne, officials say

Bexar County officials confirmed that two people were killed when two stalled vehicles were struck by another vehicle on the highway.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Medical Examiner says two people died in a crash near Boerne on Tuesday afternoon, and one was seriously injured.

A BCSO spokesperson said the crash happened along I-10 West at Fair Oaks Parkway.

While information is preliminary at this time, officials confirmed that two people were killed when two stalled vehicles were struck by another vehicle. One person, officials say, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was taken to the hospital and later died. A third person was also taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

The two people who died were identified as Fabian Pedraza-Rebollar, 38, and Rufino Pedraza-Rebollar, 44.

The driver, identified as Marilyn Denise Thompson, 53, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit. Police say that bottles of alcohol were found in the driver's vehicle. The arrest report says she was tested for intoxication at the hospital and police say her blood alcohol content "reflected an impaired presence" in her system.

This is a developing story. KENS 5 will provide updates as more information becomes available.
