SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said they broke up a teen house party Friday night in the Five Palms area where deputies discovered weapons and drugs.
One woman whose elderly parents live nearby said it is concerning for the neighborhood. She chose to remain anonymous when speaking to KENS 5.
"Things are getting out of control and if somebody doesn't step in, people can get hurt, if not killed,” she said.
In August, BCSO released a video of what these teen parties look like. This is after a 17-year-old was shot and killed at a party off Rock Mill Dam.
But in a social media post Saturday, the agency alerted residents about the most recent party. While no one was hurt, investigators believe there could be weapons and drugs discarded in the area.
"My father just got diagnosed with cancer so yes, I'm here four nights a week but the other nights, they're on their own so yeah it's very disturbing,” she said.
But it is not just the sheriff’s office breaking up these types of parties. A viewer reached out to KENS 5 on Sunday following a long night witnessing a teen party on the west side. He even captured video of police ordering the teens to leave.
"You just hear fights and you hear screaming and you kind of peak over the fence, you see underage drinking,” Ray Garcia said.
Garcia, whose parents live in the Westlawn neighborhood said it was just before midnight Sunday when he realized there were hundreds of teenagers just feet away from their home. But he said it was not until he heard gunshots that he called 911.
"They were having sex back there,” Garcia said. “I heard them shooting guns. I heard them doing drugs, like 'hey come hit this blunt'."
He said San Antonio Police were able to break up the party eventually. Garcia said he spoke with one of the organizers who admitted to him they put out flyers on social media to promote house parties and even charge boys to get in.
"They're smelling like weed, one of them looked like they had roofied her,” Garcia said. “Some of them looked like they can't even stand on their feet.”
Garcia said he did not see anyone apprehended by police. San Antonio police confirmed on Monday that no arrests were made.
"I'm not saying throw them in jail and mess up their record but there has to be consequences, and they have to be made aware that they can't do that stuff,” Garcia said.
