LA VERNIA – Parents will get a chance to voice concerns at a regular meeting Monday night held by the school board about a sex assault incident at La Vernia High School.
So far 10 students have been arrested and victims continue to come forward.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. with a "Citizens to Be Heard" portion that is expected to last about an hour.
Parents and other citizens in the La Vernia community will be able to voice concerns and ask questions.
Last month, 10 athletes were arrested on separate occasions, all facing sexual assault charges stemming from a hazing incident.
According to police in La Vernia, several students came forward reporting a hazing incident. After weeks of investigating, 10 students were arrested.
Officials with La Vernia Independent School District have not commented greatly on the scandal except to say they're cooperating with police.
The meeting will take place at La Vernia High School starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
