SAN ANTONIO — A body was recovered on the northeast side of San Antonio on Friday morning, San Antonio Police said.
The body was found around 9:15 a.m. in a wooded area off the 1200 block of Holbrook Road, just over a mile north of John James Park.
Police said later on Friday the body was that of a 26-year-old Black male, but he has not yet been officially identified. A large police presence was at the park Friday morning as they investigated the situation.
The family of Jarvis McIntyre, 26, believes the body found is the missing Navy veteran.
Monikki Williams Tippet, McIntyre’s mom, said she spoke with the Bexar County Medical Examiner and believes the tattoos on the body are consistent with her son.
The medical examiner had not confirmed the identity of the body as of Monday.
