SAN ANTONIO — Bexar County authorities are still looking for information and suspects nearly a week after the body of a 51-year-old man was discovered in Helotes.
The discovery was made Saturday morning in the 1000 block of Escondido, where authorities said a resident found a discarded shoe and eventually the dumped body of Pete Gonzales Eguia. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said Eguia lived in San Marcos and was previously reported missing.
Salazar said Eguia's 2017 Nissan was found on Dec. 7 "with front-end damage" along the 14000 block of Apache Canyon about 23 miles away, but they have little else to go on in what authorities are "absolutely investigating as a homicide."
Authorities said Saturday there was evidence suggesting Eguia was dragged off the roadway before he was dumped.
