Woman's body found under bridge on city's west side, police say

Police did not say how long the body had been there or if she had any apparent injuries that could have been connected to her death.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police discovered the body of an unidentified woman under a west-side bridge Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to a call around 2 p.m. on North General McMullen near San Judas. Authorities did not say how long the body had been there or if she had any apparent injuries that could have been connected to her death.

She was later identified as 54-year-old Nancy Walsh, but the medical examiner still has to determine the cause of her death. Police said Walsh's body "didn't appear to be there more than a week, a few days maybe."

Authorities say officers did detain a man at the scene but for outstanding warrants unrelated to this incident.

SAPD's investigation is ongoing.
