Boerne ISD begins school year with record-breaking enrollment

And the district says there are some new things available to students this year.

Its another year of recording breaking enrollment in Boerne Independent School District.

They will welcome more than 11,000 students to campus on Monday.

Close to 800 students will start the school year at Voss Middle School. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade kids start school at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

The district asked us to highlight this campus and talk about the new things available to staff and students this year.

Principal Kathy Cornett says they launched a vision team, which is made up of campus leaders.

They will focus on a collaborative culture this year, leaning on students and staff to guide learning.

They have also implemented a new system for student and staff recognition.

“We tell students at Voss that they soar, which stands for service, ownership, achievement and resilience," said Cornett. "We tell them they live above the line so there is an opportunity for them to live above the line and then recognize a teacher who has done something for them so that is very exciting.”

Cornett also says they will also have the biggest 7th grade football team in school history.

And on the topic of sports, they will be celebrating the success of six students who are part of the Boerne Little League, which is in Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

Cornett says the carpool line is going to be the easiest way to drop off your child this school year.

You can also walk them up to the front door if you prefer.
