HIDALGO, Texas — A 20-year-old man from Mexico was apprehended at the border attempting to smuggle seven migrants into the United States.
The U.S. Border Patrol Brush Team, Operation Lone Star, discovered the man trying to breach a wall in Hidalgo using a ladder. Officials believe the man was going to smuggle the seven migrants into the country using a vehicle parked nearby.
The guide, Armando Moreno-Segura, 20, a Mexican citizen, was arrested and charged with human smuggling.
The seven undocumented immigrants were taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol.
