SANANTONIO - Hours after police made an arrest in one murder that took place at the Springhill Apartments, another man was shot and killed at the same troubled apartment complex.
On Sunday, 23-year-old Leroy Peterson was arrested for a murder that took place ten days prior.
Sunday night, 20-year-old Ivan Gaines was shot and killed.
Investigators do not believe the two shootings are related, other than the two happened at the same complex off of Ray Bon on the northeast side.
Several residents, including 10-year-old John Ronces, say they worry about stray bullets.
One of shootings went down within inches of Ronces bedroom window.
It was kind of like I was in a horror movie, and I was trying to wake-up but it was like real. It was so real, said the 10-year-old.
Resident Cherelle Washington said the Springhill Apartments need to go.
I would have them completely tear this complex down, she said.
The mother of three is moving out because of all the violence.
Ronces said he too hopes his family moves out, but his family must first save enough money to afford to do so.
I am trying to raise money in my bank, he said. I am trying to help my dad so he could move away from these apartments.
