Brackenridge Park celebrates 125 years with 'Big Brack Bash'

The family-friendly event took place Saturday afternoon, and featured live music, local food vendors, and a ‘Los Viejitos’ vintage car show.

SAN ANTONIO — 125 years ago, philanthropist George Brackenridge donated a large chunk of land to the city that eventually turned into our treasured Brackenridge Park.

To celebrate the anniversary, Brackenridge Park Conservancy is hosting a series of events.
Saturday was the "Big Brack Bash." Visitors could explore interactive activities that highlight the park's rich history.

UTSAs archeological research booth brought artifacts and the group "Los Viejitos" hosted a vintage car show. Families could also share their pictures and memories for the city to preserve.

The series of events will culminate with a Christopher Cross concert at the Sunken Garden Theater on December 4, which is the day George Brackenridge gave the land to the city of San Antonio. Cross is from here in San Antonio.
