Brief police chase leads to crash on north side, authorities say

Police say a car was fleeing the Castle Hills police before crashing into a telephone pole and other cars.

SAN ANTONIO — A brief police pursuit leads to a crash on the city's north side, authorities say.

San Antonio police and fire crews along with the Castle Hills Police Department responded to reports of a car crashing into a telephone pole on Jackson Keller Road at the San Pedro Avenue intersection.

Authorities say a car was fleeing Castle Hills police but the pursuit was quickly cancelled.

The car continued to flee before rolling into a parking lot and crashing into the telephone pole and some other cars, police say.

Authorities say two occupants in the car were taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

According to police speed may have been a factor in the crash.

No further information was provided.

The crash remains under investigation.

This is a developing story.
