Two suspects arrested after pursuit and crash, BCSO says

One 17-year-old suspect was arrested immediately, and another was apprehended after fleeing on foot.

SAN ANTONIO — A teenager has been arrested and another suspect who fled on foot was caught following a chase with Bexar County Sheriff's Monday afternoon, officials said.

It ended off of West Bexar County off of Highway 211 and Lambda Drive around 12:17 p.m., officials said. 

Near Marbach and Marbach Oaks, deputies were trying to pull the suspect over but they drove off. Deputies said they pursued the suspect at a distance but after the suspect hit another vehicle, they 're-engaged' with the suspect. 

A 17-year-old who was the driver was arrested but the passenger that was in the vehicle fled on foot, officials said. That suspect was apprehended around 2:30 off of Arcadia Path with the help of a DPS trooper who was in the area, BCSO said.

Officials said a handgun was found inside of the vehicle. 

As a precaution, Ladera Elementary was placed on a secure status, but officials said there is no threat to the school.
