SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters had to break through burglar bars to gain access in order to fight a fire at a Mexican restaurant early Sunday morning
San Antonio firefighters responded to the 1200 block of South Zarzamora Avenue near St. Alphonsus Catholic Church around 2:31 a.m. for reports of a fire.
When firefighters arrived at Dos Hermanas Mexican Restaurant, smoke and flames were visible coming from inside the restaurant. Officials say they had to get through security bars in order to gain access into the building.
Once inside, they were able to extinguish the fire quickly. No one was inside at the time of the fire.
Investigators were called to the scene to look into the cause of the fire.
The building sustained moderate to heavy damage. No injuries were reported.
This is a developing story.
