North Star Mall hosted their 17th annual Canstruction® design/build competition, helping to raise awareness and money for hunger relief for the San Antonio Food Bank.

11 area architecture, engineering and construction teams were given 12 hours to defy expectations, logic and gravity as they assembled amazing sculptures using approximately 30,000 cans of food.

The supersized masterpieces were judged at the Can Opener awards ceremony attended by industry professionals and special guests.

The categories include Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal, Juror’s Favorite, Best Use of the Color Orange, and two Honorable Mentions.
