Border officials at the Laredo-Juarez International Bridge discovered a significant amount of methamphetamine in liquid form on Tuesday.
The incident occurred after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo attempting to cross into the United States.
Upon further inspection, CBP officers retrieved 12 bottles of alleged liquid meth weighing approximately 18 pounds.
“CPS officers display exemplary vigilance in keeping dangerous drugs off our streets,” Laredo Port Director Gregory Alvarez said.
The value of the illegal drugs was expected to retail for approximately $364 thousand dollars on the street.
“I commend our CBP officers for their hard work and attention to detail,” Alvarez said.
The suspect and alleged narcotics were taken into custody and the case was subsequently turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
