Children's Ballet of San Antonio extends auditions for two holiday favorites

The Children's Ballet of San Antonio is holding auditions this weekend for The Children's Nutcracker and the Polar Express: The Musical.

SAN ANTONIO — The Children's Ballet of San Antonio is extending auditions to this weekend for two holiday favorites, The Children's Nutcracker and the Polar Express: The Musical.  

Auditions for the Children's Nutcracker are open to any dancers, musicians, actors and gymnasts ages 3-19. The classic tale of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince will be brought to life by rising star dance students who have received international awards and scholarships, as well as dancers of all skill levels. The production will take place at the Lika Cockrell Theatre on December 13-15. Auditions will take place this Saturday, August 17 at CBSA's sponsor school, the Dance Center of San Antonio.

The Polar Express: The Musical take place at the Empire Theatre on December 6 - 8. 

Auditions have been extended and will take place Saturday, August 24, and are open to performers skilled in acting, singing, gymnastics, and a wide range of dance.

  •   Auditioning for musical theatre performers ages 8-19.

 The Children’s Nutcracker

  •   Auditioning for a wide range of dancers, musicians, actors, and gymnasts ages 3 – 19.

Schedule:

  • Age 3-7: 12:00-1:00 pm Dance Audition
  • Age 8-11: 1:00-2:00 pm Dance & Gymnast Audition
  • Polar Express OPEN CALL 2:00-3:00 Age 8+ Musical Theatre performers
  • Age 12+: 3:00-4:00 Dance & Gymnast Audition

  • Dance Center of San Antonio Studios
  •   126 W. Rector, Ste 120.
