City of San Antonio holds final renters' rights session at UTSA

The renters right session will be happening at 6 p.m. in UTSA's HEB Student Union.

SAN ANTONIO — Tuesday is your final chance to learn what you need to know as a renter in San Antonio and available resources to help.

The city is holding a renters' rights info session at UTSA to ensure renters can live in any space without a problem.

The city chose this location because they really want college students to learn what they need to know as a renter.

Many college students rent their first apartment if they don't live on campus, so this session can help them know what to do if they have a problem in their living space and give them resources to have different options.

Beyond college students, this session is open for anyone to attend.

You can learn about your rights on evictions, repairs, discrimination, retaliation and other topics.

If you have a question, housing experts with the city of San of Antonio and the Fair Housing Council of South Texas are running this event.

They will be able to help you and schedule follow-up appointments.

The renters right session will be happening at 6 p.m. in UTSA's HEB Student Union.

Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters will also be present to help.
