SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after he was shot by Comal County deputies as they responded to a call for a “suicidal subject” on Sunday afternoon.
In a release from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home on the 1400 block of Elm Creek Road for a suicidal subject.
As deputies made contact with the man, he allegedly displayed a handgun resulting in a deputy discharging his firearm, shooting and injuring the man.
EMS transported the man to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave and the investigation remains ongoing.
This is a developing story.
