SAN ANTONIO -- The command master chief of the Navy Operational Support Center San Antonio was relieved of his duties after being accused of misconduct while off-duty.
Jermaine Rawls has been command master chief of the Navy Operational Support Center since September 2014. Captain Andrew Bishop, the commanding officer of NOSC San Antonio, relieved Rawls of his duties on Friday.
"For personal misconduct issues and a failure to demonstrate the exemplary conduct with those in command of leadership positions," said Doug Gabos, Commander of the Navy Reserve Forces Command.
Gabos would not go into detail on what Rawls did off-duty but said the incident would take time to investigate.
"Statements were made weeks ago. During interviews of the Navy and civilian authorities that needed us to take a look at this and the allegations of improper conduct," said Gabos.
Rawls has been reassigned to the Navy Research Medical Unit. Gabos said Rawls has elected courts-martial to determine if he'll face charges.
