SAN ANTONIO — A man is in police custody and facing charges for an aggravated robbery that happened back in January.

According to an arrest warrant, a group of suspects in a white sedan including 20-year-old Cory Mayham, approached a group sitting at Dan Markson Maverick Creek Trailhead on the northwest side on Jan. 1.

The suspect began asking a 17-year-old victim a series of questions and got angry when the victim replied with sarcasm, according to the arrest affidavit. That’s when the group of suspects allegedly displayed their handguns to the victims and Mayham demanded them to surrender all their property, hitting the 17-year-old in the mouth with the handgun.

The victim surrendered his property and the suspects fled the scene.

According to police, surveillance video from a nearby convenience store captured the white sedan belonging to the suspects following the victims prior to the robbery.

After the robbery, the victim’s cell phone was tracked to a nearby address where a vehicle parked in the driveway matched the description of the one driven by the suspect.

A witness was able to identify the suspect as Mayham upon review of home video that captured the white sedan dropping the suspect off.

Mayham was taken into police custody and now faces charges for aggravated robbery.
