Dallas' Sha'Carri Richardson will be featured in Netflix docuseries ahead of Olympics

The series, SPRINT, will follow "the lives of the world's fastest humans," including Richardson, Noah Lyles and Shericka Jackson, according to Netflix.

DALLAS — Dallas' own Sha'Carri Richardson, who is expected to be among the stars of the 2024 Summer Olympics, will be among the athletes featured in an upcoming Netflix docuseries.

The series, SPRINT, will follow "the lives of the world's fastest humans," including Richardson, Noah Lyles and Shericka Jackson, according to a release from Netflix on Friday.

Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Warren Smith are executive producers on the project, which is being produced by Box to Box Films, the same studio behind popular Netflix docuseries shows "Full Swing," "Formula 1: Drive to Survive" and "Break Point."

SPRINT will premiere on July 2, ahead of the Summer Games in Paris later that same month.

Richardson, the defending world champion in the women's 100-meter sprint, is expected to headline the American track and field team in Paris.

The 24-year-old track star, who attended Dallas Carter High School before running in college at Louisiana State University, will be looking for her first Olympic medal. She was expected to contend for gold at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2021, but her hopes were dashed by a failed marijuana test, which resulted in a one-month suspension just ahead of the games getting started.

The suspension didn't slow Richardson down for long.

She ran a personal-best 10.65 seconds in the 100-meter world championship in Budapest last year, taking home her first solo world title. She was also on the Americans' 4-x-100 relay team that took gold in Budapest.

Richardson was recently featured as the face of Nike's new fashion collaboration with the French brand "JACQUEMUS."

The "JACQUEMUS x Nike" collection was announced last week with photos of Richardson modeling different pieces of the fashion line, including a handbag inspired by Nike's iconic "Swoosh" logo.
