TEXAS CITY, Texas — Police were investigating on Thursday night after two people were found dead on the Texas City Dike.
Texas City police said a man and woman were found dead near a car that was parked about 4 miles out on the 5-mile dike. They both were shot.
Investigators said the woman was found dead inside the car and the man was found dead near the water. Investigators said the man appeared to have shot himself.
They were called out to the scene around 5:30 p.m.
Dike Road was closed from the 4-mile marker to the end of the dike as police investigated.
According to Captain Manuel Johnson, no one witnessed the shootings.
